MARION MCMULLEN looks at the start of comedy panel show 8 Out Of 10 Cats two decades ago

COMEDIAN Jimmy Carr hosted the first episode of 8 Out Of 10 Cats with Sean Lock and Dave Spikey as the team captains.

The comedy panel show launched on Channel 4 20 years ago this month and featured guests like Richard Madeley, Lee Mack, Richard Amstell and Mel Giedroyc.

Jason Manford took over as a team captain in 2007 and has described the show as his first major television job.

Jon Richardson, Rob Beckett, Aisling Bea and Katherine Ryan have all made their mark on the Channel 4 favourite.
