Investigation after toddler stranded on tram tracks
Nottingham Post
|April 28, 2025
AN investigation has been launched after a toddler became stranded on tram tracks.
Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said the incident took place on Saturday, April 19, and involved a “minor who was briefly separated from their family while travelling on the tram.”
A witness said he was approaching the tram stop in Basford at around 9pm, when he saw a little boy step out of the tram doors and start to scream as the tram took off without him.
The bystander claimed that, as he got closer to the stop, the toddler was nowhere to be found.
He said he searched the surrounding area and alerted NET that a child had made their way on to the tram tracks at night.
The man then boarded the next tram and, with the help of the tram driver, managed to spot the toddler and recover him from the tram tracks to be reunited with his family.
