Inquest opens after man's pleas for help were 'ignored'

AN inquest has opened into the death of a Nottingham man whose pleas for treatment were reportedly ignored for days.

Adam Hussain, 23, died from appendicitis at the Queen’s Medical Centre on May 16 despite desperate attempts by surgeons to save him.

An inquest opened at Nottingham Coroner's Court yesterday heard Mr Hussain’s provisional cause of death given by doctors was multi-organ failure, septic shock and complicated appendicitis with perforation and parotitis.

A postmortem examination is yet to be carried out, according to area coroner Laurinda Bower, who expressed her condolences to friends and family at the end of the short hearing.
