'Hero' lorry driver helps save life of man dangling off motorway bridge

QUICK-THINKING DAN IN DRAMA ON THE M1
A LORRY driver has been hailed as a hero after stopping on the M1 to help save the life of a man hanging off a bridge.
Dan Shillito was approaching Junction 29 at around 7pm on Saturday when he spotted the desperate situation.
In a clip widely shared on social media, traffic officers can be seen closing the road as quick-thinking Dan parks his Samskip truck under the bridge after asking an officer for permission.
