Frustrated Maynard felt Notts 'didn't show enough end product'

STUART Maynard bemoaned a "frustrating day at the office" after his Notts County side missed the chance to close the gap on the League Two automatic promotion spots.

The Magpies were edged out in a game of few chances when Tyreece Simpson struck the winner for Colchester United from close range after Oscar Thorne robbed Will Jarvis of possession near the edge of County's box.

Maynard felt Jarvis may have been fouled during the build up, but felt his side should have dealt with the matter much better.

"It was a really frustrating day at the office," he said. "I haven't watched it back but I think for the goal, it looks like there's a push in the back on Will Jarvis. But we should address it, get on it and clear the ball.
