Friendly eatery where you can dine without anxiety if gluten is going to be an issue

COELIAC-SAFE MENU HAS CUSTOMERS TRAVELLING FOR MILES

IT’S not only the menu and service that is drawing food lovers to a Long Eaton restaurant many are travelling miles to Limas because it’s a safe place to eat.

The menu at the eatery is 99 per cent gluten free - making it appealing to coeliacs who have to avoid the protein found in wheat, barley and rye.

It's found in foods such as bread, cakes, crackers, pasta, gravy, sauces and certain drinks including beer, which can make eating out problematic.

At Limas, the only item on the menu that isn’t gluten free is the focaccia bread but a version without gluten is also baked, with the two cut at separate stations to avoid cross-contamination. Owner Kenny Mann (pictured) was determined to cater for coeliacs because he suffers himself and finds eating out not only difficult but a worry too.

He said: “We have had people travelling from Sheffield, Leicester, Mansfield, Chesterfield and, obviously, Derby and Nottingham.
