EXPECTATIONS ALREADY EXCEEDED

- By LYNETTE PINCHESS

THE owner of Beeston's newest coffee shop says its first week "exceeded expectations".

:AM Coffee and Bakery began trading without making a big show on social media, relying on trade from passing customers and word of mouth.

It wasn't long before most of the 63 seats inside were taken with a wide range of customers sampling the drinks, breakfasts, sandwiches and cakes in a buzzing atmosphere.

Owner Aljon Matoshi said: "We wanted to do a soft opening so we could see how it was going to go, what was going to be the feedback from the customers and to see what we needed to improve or change but it exceeded our expectations. It was really good.

"We have had lots of customers from Beeston and other towns as well. The Beeston community has been very supportive. I'm surprised all the people have been coming, they've supported us and are becoming regulars now and we've had big support from our neighbours as well, other businesses.

"The feedback was very positive, people are liking the coffee and people are liking the food, such as the focaccia sandwiches that we do, so this makes us do our best and give more for them. Up until now we think we have done a good job but of course we appreciate all feedback. If it's good we are happy to hear it but if it's bad we can do something to improve it."
