Driver, 17, caused horrific smash just hours after getting new car

A TEENAGE driver caused a serious accident just hours after picking up his new car.

One man suffered a broken spine in the smash at a T-junction, while six other people were also injured.

The 17-year-old driver, Jake Aspi-nall, of Cotgrave, almost killed one of his own friends in the crash.

Aspinall was in his new Citroen C1 when he pulled out at the junction, between the villages of Hose and Scalford in Leicestershire, and into the path of the other car.

Aspinall had three friends in his car, while the other vehicle containing a married couple and their son.
