Director ban for former company boss who abused Covid loan scheme

THE Insolvency Service has banned a Nottinghamshire plumber from being a director of a company after it was found he had falsely claimed his firm had turned over hundreds of thousands of pounds to secure a Covid Bounce Back Loan.
Carl Barnes, of Ollerton Road, Retford, the director of Central Plumbing & Heating Lincoln LTD, a company which was incorporated in 2016, made a small amount of profit in its first year.
Yet in August 2020, he claimed that his company had turned over £354,000 despite his accounts being dormant since that first year.
