Dance school stepping out to new base in city centre

A PERFORMING arts academy for is looking forward to its new beginning in the city centre after it was forced to relocate.

Founded in 1967, Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD) has been based at Century House on Carlton Hill, Carlton, since the 1980s but has been forced to relocated after the building was sold in July.
A planning application has since been submitted to Gedling Borough Council to convert the 1,602sq m space into 11 flats.
The academy is now in the process of relocating to Richmond House, in Canal Street, and will be ready to reopen in September.
