Court grants order to shut council houses

A COUNCIL house in Hucknall was left in an "almost uninhabitable state" by tenants following reports of drug dealing there.

Police have shut down two properties on the Welbeck Estate that officers said became "hubs of drug dealing, drug abuse and anti-social behaviour."
Police presented information to the courts alongside Ashfield District Council, which owns the properties, and closure notices were issued.
Hucknall's neighbourhood policing team (NPT) then closed the addresses on Monday and Tuesday.
