Couple are fundraising so stillborn babies can get that 'extra cuddle'

A NOTTINGHAMSHIRE couple whose son was born sleeping are fundraising so that other stillborn babies can “get an extra cuddle” from their parents.

Kirsty and Scott Evans, from Annesley Woodhouse, were told their baby boy Angus Charlie Evans’ heart had stopped at 22 weeks and five days gestation.

Angus was then born at King’s Mill Hospital at 24 weeks on February 3.

Since then, the couple have raised more than £10,000 in his memory which has gone towards purchasing a cold cot for the hospital’s Butterfly Suite, where families can spend time with their baby.

Kirsty, 37, said: “The suite is like an apartment and has everything you could need.

“The wardrobe is full of clothes. There are toiletries, coffee, books for the whole family. Nothing is not thought about in there.
