PARTY'S 40 COUNCILLORS WILL MAKE THEIR CHOICE AFTER TRIUMPH AT THE POLLS
REFORM UK will announce the next leader of Nottinghamshire County Council on Monday, after taking full control of the authority.
Nigel Farage’s party secured a convincing majority in the May 1 election, with 40 councillors elected on a day which saw the Tories lose control and Labour reduced to four councillors.
The 40 seats is well over the 34 needed for any party to form a majority. Although in the run-up to the election it had been expected the council could end up in a Tory-Reform coalition, the result means Reform will now single-handedly run it for the next four years.
Although voters decide which party should lead the county council, it is for councillors from the majority party to decide which of them leads the authority.
