Country pub with 'proper beer and proper food' at its heart

THE PLOUGH IS CONTENDER FOR NOTTS BITES AWARD
THE Plough Inn is the epitome of a proper pub. Described by the owners as a "traditional pub with a modern twist', it's relaxed, friendly and welcoming, where everyone feels at home whether they're calling in for a pint, enjoying a family meal or meeting up with friends.
The family-run pub, operated by husband and wife team, Chris Dyson and Kirsty Myers, is nestled in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside in the Rushcliffe village of Hickling, population under 550.
Kirsty said: “People don’t just happen upon The Plough - many make the choice to travel out from Nottingham and even much further afield to visit us. They know they'll receive a warm welcome, great food, proper drinks and a friendly atmosphere.”
Along with the Lord Roberts and Billy Bootleggers in Nottingham city centre and the Four Bells in Woodborough, The Plough is a contender for the county’s best pub after reaching the final four in our food and drink awards, Notts Bites.
The drinks selection has been carefully selected, with local craft beers on draught from Round Corner Brewing in Melton Mowbray, alongside rotating guest beers from further afield. Two years ago the pub, in Main Street, was crowned the Vale of Belvoir's CAMRA Pub of the Year.
