CHARLIE Whitaker was the hero for Notts County on Saturday, netting both goals in their 2-0 away victory against Newport County.
The 21-year-old has been an important part of Stuart Maynard's line-up in recent weeks after arriving at the club in January from Everton's academy.
Upon arriving at Meadow Lane, he had not played at senior level but his quality has shone through despite the team's recent struggles.
With key attacking players like Jodi Jones not available, Notts need players like Whitaker to fill the creative void left behind. The former Everton man enjoyed netting his third and fourth goals for the club in an important victory away against Newport.
"I thought I took them both well," said Whitaker.
