Charles's marathon effort in reverse is sure to be 'a little bit different'

HE'LL BE RUNNING 42KM BACKWARDS FOR AUTISM CHARITY TO CHALLENGE PEOPLE'S IDEA OF 'NORMAL'

A NOTTINGHAM man has set out to complete the unique task of running a marathon backwards to raise awareness and funds for an East Midlands-based autism charity.

Charles Evans, 28, was diagnosed with autism himself at 17 years old.

He will run the 42km around the Forest Recreation Ground in September for Autism East Midlands. He hopes this will help shift perspectives on neurodiverse people in the UK.

The idea of running backwards is to highlight how perspectives can be different for neurodiverse people. The unique event is aimed at celebrate the differences of those with neurodiverse conditions.

The project, curated by three friends Charles, Louis Greatorex, 28, and Stefan White, 24 - will also feature a documentary that will capture every fall and every blister on camera.

Stefan and Louis will be helping Charles in producing the film as well as helping him train for the marathon. Charles said: "We want people to consider being a little bit different and a little bit weird and the wrong way round.
