POLICE MOVE TO REASSURE PUBLIC THAT FESTIVE EVENT IS SAFE AFTER ‘FRIGHTENING’ INCIDENT NEARBY
A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested after a group of youths brandished machetes in Nottingham city centre.
Police were called after four youths on two e-bikes confronted a group of other youths outside the Council House in Old Market Square on Sunday evening, as families visited Winter Wonderland. Officers quickly arrived at the scene, where no one had been injured, but the suspects had already left the area.
Nottinghamshire Police, which has been searching through CCTV and tips from the public, have now arrested a boy in connection with the incident.
A 14-year-old was arrested yesterday afternoon and taken into custody. Inquiries to trace further suspects remain ongoing.
