Award-winner restaurant announces its closure

A COSY restaurant serving affordable taster menus is closing.

The owners of Sans Patrie blamed the financial pressures on the hospitality industry.

The restaurant, in Alfreton Road near Canning Circus, introduced a taster menu in 2023, calling it “starter pack" fine dining, with a reasonably priced six-course menu - at that time £55.

The series of small dishes is normally associated with high-end restaurants, which charge high end prices of at least £100.

What made it more remarkable at Sans Patrie was that hundreds of dishes a night were crafted in the smallest of spaces, using a pizza oven.
