'Appalling' fraudster jailed for 'taking advantage of grieving victim'

A FRAUDSTER who repeatedly "frustrated the legal process" has finally been jailed - more than seven years after being reported to police.

James Raynham-Gallivan was reported to detectives in March 2018 after failing to pay more than £116,000 from two estates of which he was executor.

The 71-year-old received the money from the estates over a period of around two years, but made a series of excuses as to why the money could not be paid to the named beneficiary. He then caused multiple delays to the process by repeatedly saying he was too ill to be questioned.

An executor is the person named in a will to manage and distribute a deceased person's assets according to the will's instructions.
