App brings world of DH Lawrence to life around his birthplace for festival visitors
Nottingham Post
|September 17, 2025
A NEW app aims to bring to life the stories of one of the world's most famous writers and the places in Nottinghamshire which inspired him.
DH Lawrence was one of the 20th century's most important writers, with his novels Lady Chatterley's Lover, The Rainbow and Women In Love still reaching new audiences today.
Eastwood, his birthplace, which inspired many of his stories and characters, continues to remember his legacy today with the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum among tourist attractions in his name.
But as the 140th anniversary of his birth approaches, campaigners in the town say his legacy needs to be passed on in new ways.
Those behind the new The people behind DH Lawrence AR Experience hope the new smart phone app will do exactly that.
The new experience, part of the LetsARgo app, sets out to visualise the places in the town which inspired the stories.
