Account manager stole £75k from letting agency she worked at

A WOMAN abused the trust of the company who employed her by stealing £75,000.

Nottingham Crown Court heard how account manager Julie Barnett transferred cash from the letting agents she worked at in Sutton-in-Ashfield into her own accounts.

Phil Cowburn, prosecuting, said £60,000 of the money was moved by the 54-year-old into one of her accounts and another £15,000 was “a single payment into a different account”.

The defendant, of Mickleover in Derby, was seen in tears outside the courtroom after entering a guilty plea to a single charge of fraud by abuse of position.
