Bake sale helps funding for defibrillator

IT'S a matter of hearts and tarts in South Molton as a Devon charity rallies the community to help save lives.

With Victoria Sponge in one hand and bingo dabbers in the other, residents have been digging deep to fund a crucial defibrillator.

The campaign has been launched by staff at the learning disability charity Hft to raise money for a new defibrillator at their Oak Meadow supported living service in the North Devon town of South Molton.

The idea was sparked during first aid training, when team members realised the nearest defibrillator was a ten-minute uphill dash from the site time that could prove critical in an emergency.
