The arrival of the sleek MAR super yacht in Mossel Bay this month sparked widespread curiosity among locals and visitors.
There was much interest in it expressed on social media platforms.
Mossel Bay Advertiser enquired to Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) about the reason for the unexpected but welcome visit by the 107-metre vessel.
According to TNPA acting port manager Captain Vania Cloete, the MAR was en route from the Seychelles to Cape Town when it made a brief stop in Mossel Bay on Saturday, 10 May.
The reason: to seek shelter from adverse weather conditions forecasted.
