Hamas Assailed Israel's Move Overnight to Halt Entry of All Humanitarian Aid and Commercial Supplies to Gaza
Israel accepted a new 11th-hour Gaza ceasefire proposal from the US while Hamas balked, insisting that the sides implement a de facto end-of-war deal without the faction giving up power or weapons in the ravaged enclave.
Hamas assailed Israel's move overnight to halt the entry of all humanitarian aid and commercial supplies to the Gaza Strip, calling it a "war crime."
Disagreement over Hamas' long-term fate has prevented an advance from the six-week initial truce, which expired Sunday morning, to a so-called Phase 2 in which Israel would withdraw all forces from Gaza and recover remaining hostages there.
