Reservoir levels dip, adding to worry over rain delay

An 8% on-year drop in the key reservoir levels across the country has raised concerns over drinking water and cattle amid a weak and delayed southwest monsoon. However, kharif crops sowing is not that alarming.
Water levels in India's 146 key reservoirs have dipped to 46.231 billion cubic metres, against a total storage capacity of 178.185 bcm, according to the latest bulletin of the Central Water Commission.
