NDA set to be top bloc in Rajya Sabha by year end

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to emerge as the largest bloc in the Rajya Sabha by the end of year, and its tally will begin to rise after the biennial elections to fill 37 seats conclude on 16 March, said people aware of the details.

The BJP, with 103 members, is the single largest party in the Upper House that has a strength of 243. The NDA has 133 members. The NDA now holds 15 of the 37 seats going to polls.
