Disgraced ex-Goldman partner sought by Malaysia for extradition in IMDB scandal

Malaysia is seeking to extradite former Goldman Sachs partner Tim Leissner, a sign that the fallout from the more-than 10-year-old IMDB scandal isn't over for the Wall Street giant. Malaysia's government submitted an extradition request for Leissner to the U.S. Justice Department last August, according to people familiar with the matter and a document reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The moves show the Malaysian government continues to seek information and justice from those accused of looting 1Malaysia Development Bhd., a state-controlled economic development company known as IMDB. More than $4.5 billion was found to be misappropriated from the fund, according to U.S. prosecutors. The scandal toppled the prime minister, while Jho Low, the financier-turned-fugitive at its center, has become the subject of a global manhunt.
