As India celebrated its 76th Republic Day on Sunday with enthusiasm, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized that differences should be respected and that cohesion is key to living in harmony.

MUMBAI: "No one should be suppressed, and everyone should have the opportunity to grow," Bhagwat asserted while speaking after unfurling the national flag during Republic Day celebrations at a college in Bhiwandi, in Maharashtra's Thane district.

Meanwhile, RSS Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghchalak Rajesh Loya also unfurled the national flag at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.

In his address, Bhagwat remarked that Republic Day is not just a time for celebration but also an occasion to "remember our responsibilities towards the nation."

"Conflicts arise outside Bharat because of diversity. However, in Bharat, we see diversity as a natural part of life. You can have your own specialties, but you must coexist peacefully. If you want to live, it should be a cohesive living. You cannot be happy if your family is unhappy. Similarly, a family cannot be happy if the town is facing trouble," Bhagwat explained.

He stressed the importance of combining knowledge with dedication in one's work. "Being enterprising is important, but you must always approach your work with knowledge. Any task done without proper thought does not yield results but instead causes trouble.

A task done without understanding becomes the work of a lunatic," he cautioned.
