PM Modi unveils 109 climate-resilient crop varieties to boost agriculture

In a significant move to enhance India's agricultural productivity and farmers' income, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday released 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient, and biofortified seed varieties.

Developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), these new varieties cover a wide range of 61 crops, including 34 field crops and 27 horticultural crops.
The unveiling took place at Delhi's Pusa Campus, where Modi visited three experimental agriculture plots and engaged in discussions with farmers and scientists. During the event, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of value addition in agriculture and highlighted the potential benefits of these new varieties for farmers.
