|March 03, 2025
India's economy showed signs of resilience in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25, growing at 6.2 per cent from October to December.
-
This marked an improvement from the 5.6 per cent recorded in the previous quarter but was notably slower than the 9.5 per cent growth seen during the same period in 2023. While the numbers reflect a steady recovery, they also highlight the challenges that lie ahead in sustaining high growth. The latest data released by the National Statistical Office suggests that rising government spending and strong private consumption have been the key drivers of this growth. Government expenditure saw an 8.3 per cent increase, while private consumption grew by 6.9 per cent, helping the economy regain momentum. Exports also performed well, expanding by 10.4 per cent, while imports saw a slight decline, which some experts attribute to the weakening rupee.
