2024 has augured well for Indian cinema. India's cinematic brilliance has won accolades for perfection, innovation, narration and storytelling. Directors such as Payal Kapadia, Kiran Rao and Zoya Akhtar have rejuvenated the idea of filmmaking and reinforced the belief of Indian cinema, "Yes we can!" on the global stage. Today, Indian cinema not only dominates festival circuits, it is witnessing standing ovations and accolades from critics around the world. On the red carpet, we are overjoyed to see "Chak De moments".

Thriving on new ideas, themes, and untapped talent, Indian cinema today showcases the nation's evolving soft power. Commercial success has always been one part of the story, but filmmaking is undergoing a "creative transformation". With this transformative framework in mind, the setting and programming for the 55th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) at Goa from November 20 to 28, 2024 must not only reflect India's international success, it is also an opportunity to show the world the roadmap for the future of cinema from Indian shows.
