Father and son attacked man in corner shop

A FATHER and son attacked a man in a corner shop by placing him in a headlock and punching him before pushing him into a fridge, which smashed and caused a gaping wound to the victim's arm, a court has heard.

Horrified customers and the shop keeper attempted to pull the attackers off their victim but they continued to punch him.

Michael Rudy, 44, and Mason Rudy, 21, attended Jane's Store in Cwmcarn, Caerphilly, on June 30 last year and saw victim Sam Burnett, who was talking to the shopkeeper.

He was approached by Michael Rudy, who appeared aggressive and got up close to him.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on October 15 heard an argument broke out began between Michael Rudy and Mr Burnett, who asked: "What's your f****** problem?"

Michael Rudy launched himself at Mr Burnett and placed him in a headlock while punching him repeatedly to the head and torso.

His son joined in the assault on the victim, who was pushed towards a fridge, causing the glass to smash and cause a deep wound to his forearm.
