40 years' play pays off for pools winner

A GREAT-GRANDFATHER enjoyed an unforgettable festive period after landing a windfall on the pools.

Peter, from Pontypridd, celebrated winning £291,000 after predicting eight score draws.
Peter has collected winnings in the 40 years he has been playing the pools but none come close to his six-figure sum.
The result that secured his victory was Manchester United's 4-4 draw with Bournemouth at Old Trafford last month.
Peter correctly predicted seven score draws, meaning his accumulator rested on this game, which turned out to be one of the most exciting Premier League games of the season so far.
But Peter, 77, was unaware until The Pools contacted him.
