Speaker Dy vows to pass 'clean' budget

House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III vowed that the Lower House of Congress will pass a "clean" P6.793trillion General Appropriations Bill (GAB) through the transparent and open efforts of House members, employees, and the workers from different government agencies who took part in the grueling marathon 2026 budget plenary debates.

"Sinabi ko po nung ako'y nahalal bilang Speaker, sisiguraduhin natin na ang bawat sentimo na paglalaanan ng budget sa bawat ahensya ay tutugma sa mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan.

Itutuloy po namin na pagtulungan makapagpasa ng isang bukas, maayos, at malinis na budget," he vowed.

(When I was elected Speaker, I said that we would ensure every cent allocated in the budget for each agency matches the needs of our people.

We will continue to work together to pass an open, orderly, and clean budget.) At past midnight on Friday, Oct. 3, minutes after the plenary debates on the GAB were concluded, Dy sent out a heartfelt thank you to everybody for helping complete the arduous but necessary task.
