SC urged to compel PBBM to address flood problems
Manila Bulletin
|September 12, 2025
The Supreme Court (SC) was asked on Thursday, Sept. 11, to compel President Marcos, several government agencies, and private contractors to adopt measures to solve the perennial flood problems in the country.
The petition for Writ of Kalikasan was filed despite President Marcos’ efforts to address corruption involving flood control projects, the latest of which was the issuance of an executive order creating an independent commission to investigate the flood control anomalies.
It was also asked to compel the President to exercise control over various government agencies for the conduct of massive cleanup of the environment.
