Sandro: Co working with destabilizers

House Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos assailed resigned congressman Zaldy Co for implicating him in massive corruption as he linked the former party-list representative to certain individuals who want to destabilize the current Marcos administration.

"I hope that the public can be reminded that we are talking of a person with no credibility, whose vested interests are to release these videos to destabilize the government," Rep. Marcos said of the former Ako Bicol Party-list congressman in a statement Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 25.

Minutes earlier, Co uploaded a Facebook video wherein he accused the presidential son of inserting an accumulated ₱50.938 billion worth of projects in the 2023, 2024, and 2025 national budgets.

"This is someone who our kababayans know to be the architect of this mess yet continues to insult their intelligence by saying 'wala siyang nakuha (he didn't receive anything)'," Rep. Marcos said. "Evidently, the only path he sees for himself is one where he stirs political chaos in the hope of escaping his own legal troubles. He wants to bring down the current administration to get exonerated from his own crimes," he said of Co.

The presidential son alleges that intelligence information suggests that Co already struck a deal with those who stand to benefit from such a change.
