Powering global green Revolution from PH
Manila Bulletin
|May 11, 2025
ACEN Corp. distinguishes itself by rapidly transforming renewable energy blueprints into tangible green power, both domestically and internationally, positioning the Ayala group as a significant global energy player.
Under the leadership of President and CEO Eric Francia, ACEN aims not only to meet energy demands but also to contribute to climate solutions. The company is actively installing renewable energy projects across the Philippines, Australia, India, and Vietnam.
ACEN is aggressively pursuing its renewable energy targets, aiming for 5 GW by 2025 (already achieved ahead of schedule by the end of 2023/early 2024) and a substantial 20 GW by 2030.
Francia detailed that their operating capacity is currently around 3.5 GW, with expectations to reach 4.5 GW within the next year through projects like Stubbo solar in Australia (500 MW), Palauig solar in the Philippines (300 MW), and the initial phase of the Monsoon wind project in Vietnam.
He anticipates the full financial impact of these additions within the next three years, with approximately 7 GW operational by the end of 2027.
Looking towards the 20 GW goal, ACEN is exploring new markets like Indonesia and will actively participate in domestic green energy auctions, while also venturing into floating solar and offshore wind.
Francia emphasized a strategic approach, ensuring projects are economically viable rather than simply adding megawatts.

Reservists: Quiet guardians of national defense
Every September, National Reservist Week gives us a chance to pause, reflect, and recognize a quiet yet indispensable force that safeguards our nation: the reservists of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Often, they stand outside the limelight, far from the public's daily consciousness. Yet, during times of crisis-whether national security challenges or natural disasters-it is the reservists who embody the essence of citizen-soldiers: ordinary men and women ready to serve when duty calls.
