PH sees 87% drop in Covid-19 cases, monitors regional trends

While the Philippines is experiencing a sharp decline in Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health (DOH) said it is closely monitoring trends in Southeast Asia as some areas in the region have reported slight increases in infections.

"We are actively coordinating through established mechanisms like ASEAN," the DOH said in a statement.

"This provides us with verified information, boosting readiness even as we see no cause for alarm," it added.

The DOH also emphasized that there is "no cause for alarm" as the country has reported a consistent decline in Covid-19 cases over the past weeks.

Significant drop

As of May 3, the DOH reported that the Philippines had recorded an 87 percent decrease in Covid-19 cases and deaths compared to 2024.
