Bulldogs edge Tams, complete rare five-peat
National University flashed its dominant form and outlasted Far Eastern University, 25-16, 28-26, 25-23, in Game 3 to annex its fifth straight title in UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball before an energetic crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, May 17.
The Bulldogs delivered timely hits and held their fort against the persistent Tamaraws late in the third frame to become the first team in the Final Four era to accomplish a five-peat performance. Overall, they have seven titles.
Interestingly, their efforts came second behind the 12-peat achievement of FEU from the late 1940s to the 1950s.
The Dante Alinsunurin-mentored squad followed its female counterparts after the Lady Bulldogs also reigned supreme in their division a few days back.
