High Speed Hitters rise as PVL's hottest team

- By KRISTEL SATUMBAGA

A new empire is rising.

Just over two weeks after securing their maiden Premier Volleyball League (PVL) title, the PLDT High Speed Hitters continued their dominant run, clinching a second straight championship by ruling the Invitational Conference in front of an enthusiastic weekend crowd.

Showing grit and composure against their younger and agile players, the High Speed Hitters turned back Japanese collegiate team Kobe Shinwa University, 21-25, 31-29, 25-22, 25-18, for their first back-to-back title in league history.
