DOJ sets evaluation of criminal charges vs Rep Duterte

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to evaluate the criminal charges of physical injuries and grave threats filed by a businessman against Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte.
"An evaluation will be done and if the evidence is sufficient, a preliminary investigation will be conducted," Prosecutor General Richard Anthony D. Fadullon said on Sunday, May 4.
Fadullon had earlier confirmed that the DOJ received last Friday, May 3, the complaints filed by Davao City businessman Kristone John M. Patria.
After the evaluation and if a preliminary investigation will be conducted, Fadullon said that Duterte will be given the opportunity to refute the charges filed against him.
Earlier, Congressman Duterte branded as fabricated the charges filed against him by the businessman.
He dismissed the charges as "planted" and pointed out that such tactics were nothing new to him.
