Cotabato town mayor donates salary for calamity-hit Cebu

The mayor of the municipality of Midsayap in Cotabato province is donating his one-month salary for calamity-hit areas in Cebu province.

Mayor Rolly Sacdalan donated his paycheck as the local government conducted a donation drive among local government workers for Cebu and the town is gearing up for its 89th foundation anniversary on Nov. 25.
“While Midsayap is celebrating its 89th foundation anniversary and the 21st Sinugba Festival, we also sympathize and in solidarity with our fellow Filipinos who are now in difficult situation,” Sacdalan said.
As a gesture of leadership, the mayor said that he is donating his one-month salary for calamity-hit communities.
The mayor of a first-class town like Midsayap has a salary of at least 142,000 a month or Salary Grade 27.
