The Diocese of Legazpi condemned on Thursday the killing of radio broadcaster Noel Samar, who died after he was shot by an unidentified gunman on Maharlika Highway in Guinobatan, Albay, earlier this week.

"We share in their grief and express our solidarity with all who condemn this killing and who call for justice and accountability in the face of this senseless act of violence," Bishop Joel Baylon said in a statement.

Baylon said the clergy and laity of the Diocese of Legazpi extend heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family, friends, and colleagues of Samar.
