A state of calamity has been declared here following heavy rains that caused flooding and landslides.
The Cebu City Council, in an emergency session on Friday, July 18, approved the recommendation of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to place the city under a state of calamity.
Mayor Nestor Archival Sr. said placing the city under a state of calamity will help flood mitigation efforts such as repair, desilting, and declogging of waterways in critical areas.
