At least 8 die, 28 hurt in 5-vehicle freak accident at SCTEX toll plaza

At least eight persons reportedly died while 28 others were injured in a multiple-vehicle collision at the SCTEX Toll Plaza in Tarlac City on Thursday afternoon, May 1.

Lt. Col. Romel Santos, Tarlac Provincial Police Office director, said the accident at the SCTEX toll plaza in Barangay Pantog, Tarlac City, was reported to them at 12:30 p.m. involving five vehicles — a Toyota Veloz driven by Carlo Mojica, a resident of San Fernando, Pampanga; an 18-wheeler truck driven by Darwin Cruel of Tondo, Manila; a Nissan Urvan; a Kia Sonet; and a Solid North Transit bus
