WARMER weather means we're just starting to see signs of spring. Working Landscapes manager Laura Bower, who looks after nature reserves for the People's Trust for Endangered Species, tells us some flora and fauna we should be looking out for at this time of year.

Frogspawn: One of the first signs of new life after a long winter is frogspawn. These fascinating clumps of jelly are frogs' eggs which, after a few weeks, will hatch and develop into tadpoles. You may also see toad spawn which is arranged in a long string.
