Maguire left ‘buzzing’ after a bronze finish

Bronze medallist Nathan Maguire of Great Britain celebrates after the Men's 1500m Final T54 at day six of the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi

NATHAN MAGUIRE says fervent family support propelled him to a battling bronze medal at the World Para Athletics Championships.

The Salford wheelchair racer, 28, grabbed his second global gong by finishing third in the T54 1500m in New Delhi.

Maguire is married to nine-time Paralympian Hannah Cockroft, who won her 18th world title the previous evening in the T34 100m.

Cockroft, plus Maguire's parents and a bumper British coaching contingent, were all in attendance at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to roar the Greater Manchester star on in yesterday morning's final.
