200-year-old 'at risk' Hall's future is still to be revealed

PLANS to protect and preserve a historic building have yet to be released to the public.

The Grade II* listed Woodbank Hall, in Woodbank Park outside Stockport town centre, is on Historic England's heritage at-risk register.

The building dates back to 1814, and last November Stockport council promised there would be firm proposals on the table in early 2025 over the long-term plans for the site.

Historic England judged the building to be in a very bad condition, with “immediate risk of further rapid deterioration or loss of fabric; no solution agreed”.
