Laura and Lisa earn national awards for their dementia work

HEALTH staff from Macclesfield are celebrating after winning at a national award ceremony.

Laura Birch, who is based at the Jocelyn Solly Centre, on Victoria Road, was named Admiral Nurse of the year at the Dementia Care Awards, held in London.
And Lisa Nixon, from ward nine at Macclesfield Hospital, was winner in the activity co-ordinator category.
Laura said: "I am overjoyed to have won the award of Admiral Nurse of the Year. With people living with dementia and their families in mind, I strive to ensure no one is alone with a diagnosis of dementia.
