Bugbear that ruins the beautiful game

GOOD day to you my wonderful people.
-
What are you up to now summer is with us?
As a football fan this is a very exciting time of the year for me.
Sadly, my team had a melt-down during the season and never quite recovered.
Now, here is something you may like to help me out with. In years gone by players went to the ground on the bus and earned little more than the fans on the terraces.
Famously, Manchester City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann broke his neck in the 1956 Cup Final and despite the pain, insisted staying on the field.
I’m, not saying it was the best thing to do but it does show how damn tough those players were.
